Title: Dreaming of Atlantis
Like the shot? Fav it!
–
He holds her up in strong solid arms… effortlessly, while she gently floats around him, carresing him gently.
Underwater, everything becomes slower and timless.
I want this moment to last forever.
Together, we dream of Atlantis.
–
This shot is actually the result of my flash misfires. A happy mistake that made me see the shot a little differently. While all the other shots looked dreamy and romantic, this one had a cold melancholic and ethereal feel that really strung a chord with me.
The models in this shot are Fey Cody and Vladimir Tatarinoff Lissouba.
To make the scene look like it was underwater, the following stock images were used:
Bubbles from - http://joscos.deviantart.com/art/Photo5-Bubbles-101416628
Surface water glow from - http://alibakhtiar.deviantart.com/art/Under-water-81945263

Note: The black band on the male models face was enhanced/modified from the airbrushed makeup of Joanie Lapointe

First of a series of shots from my largest shoot ever (check out some backstage shots HERE - www.facebook.com/pages/Von-Wong-Photography-Montreal-Base….
The original concept developed when I met model Fey Cody online, who told me that she had lost many people in her life and would like to do something that showed how they're spirits still lived on and were carried on within her. This concept combined with a sad story of loneliness that a good friend of mine Sabrina had told me resulted in the image you see above. I edited this picture yesterday and took advantage of a 40% off special they had at provisia and printed it out in a gigantic 24×30" format that you can check out in crappy webcam version HERE (http://img.skitch.com/20100316-frqb4pjwn29jb2s8eh9b773ciy.jpg)

Luanne and I used to play violin together in a music camp when we were five years old. There’s actually a video of that somewhere… how cute.
I think that she’s actually the person I’ve known for the longest time excluding my parents that I still talk to. Wierd!
Anyways, she came back to Montreal to visit and we had a blast snapping off some shots together. A variety of different shots were taken but these are my three favorites of the day.
A thankyou to my two cousins who were helping me that day - Averly and Austin.

Henry and I met on the second day I started going out with Anna. Actually, the first time we spoke was when he started taking photos of us.
Fast forward one year later, and the roles are reversed, this time featuring Henry and his fiance Angie as the models. This however, didn’t stop our dear Henry to bring his own massive 4×5″ camera and take his own shots.
Shot on McGill campus and the Lachine Canal, I think both the bride, groom and myself had a fantastic time. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Here’s something new - A long exposure portrait.
I’ve had this shot in mind for a while now, but never actually went into the process of shooting it.
The process was simple, throw my model, fellow photographer Yannick Khong dangerously close to the edge of traffic where he would be run over, whip out the wide angle and get in as close as possible.
Leave the camera on a 15 second exposure while holding a tungsten gel’ed Sb-800 to camera left as close as possible without being in the frame…and bang! Turns out that the tungsten street lamp pretty much fell off right at the mid point of the shot creating a dual colored background that I find pretty intense =)
The 11×14″ ratio crop is a second experiment where I’m testing what my shots would look like for an eventual portfolio.
Here’s a production shot taken by Yannick on his D80 =)

For those of you that had the chance to attend the event, I have seperated the photo album into two categories (located on the left); event and portraits for you to enjoy. The shots of you and Kovalev are available free for download (button located lower right), I only ask that you please leave the watermarks in place.

Well folks, I’m back!
It’s been a little quit around here and I really haven’t had all that much free time. One of the reasons I’ve been dreadfully busy:
On the 17th of May, Anna and I covered the 10 hour wedding of Nadia and Felipe. That part wasn’t the hard part… It was the 30 hours editing thereafter of the 2500 shots taken on my side that took the longest! I complain, but to be honest it was a great experience and all the hard work was done for the pleasure of it, not becuase it was required.
I chose a couple nice ambient/portrait shots to show off to you guys here, but if anyone wants to see the full album that contains Anna’s and my shots, please check it out HERE. There’s a little button on the bottom left corner where you can check out the full categories of the shots. My shots can be defined by the names that begin in _BEN and the one’s shot by anna are identified as IMG. Once again, the full album: http://iintrigue.com/albums/Nadia%20and%20Felipe/

Anna and Pomme, two young ladies find themselves in a strange abandoned building where they stumble upon an intriguing painting of an alley…

Taken with a 70-200 f2.8, the concept was to compress reality and painting together. [Painted by graffiti artist "El Seed" - http://elseed.deviantart.com/ ]
Jerry helped me toss some newspaper in the air to capture this beautiful mysterious shot.
As for the blue, want to take a guess how it was done? No, not blue gels Yannick, a Tungsten gell’ed flash with White Balance set to Daylight! =)

Did you know that newspaper could be worn? Turns out that it can, although I’m sure that Anna will tell you that it isn’t very warm… =P
******
For this shot, 2 assistants were located a story above throwing bits and pieces of used newspaper that I appropriated in the metro system… =P Meanwhile, 5 flashes gelled a variety of different colors (blue/green/purple) were scattered around Anna to light the various bits of falling paper in different ways. From the front, JerryPH’s 28″ Wescott Apollo Softbox contained another two flashes to provide the front fill for the lovely freezing model.Special thanks to Rosemary Chu for making the dress =)
The result? A semi-glamorous chaotic mess of newspaper.
